The fistic sport has suffered a massive blow with the passing away of veteran boxing promoter Steve Kalakoda on Monday.
Kalakoda had been a strong feature in boxing promotion in the Western Cape, particularly in Cape Town where he promoted many of his tournaments since he started promoting the sport in 1998.
Not only did the deceased promote tournaments all over South Africa, he also promoted shows in other African and European countries. He promoted in Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Namibia, Nigeria, Ghana and Austria.
