Only two fights in the professional ranks, lanky Ethan Peters has already left veteran boxing promoter Rodney Berman with a lasting impression after he made light work of his opponents.

The Golden Gloves chief executive officer has been impressed with how Peters, who is trained by Manny Fernandes, goes about doing the job inside the ring.

“I have been in boxing for a long time and I have never seen a 19-year-old having so much composure like Ethan Peters does. He’s definitely one for the future,” Berman said.

Peters, who campaigns in the heavyweight division, announced his arrival in the professional ranks with a first round stoppage win over Sibabalwe Mnani at the Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, last November.

As if he was out to prove a point, Peters didn’t raise a sweat when he dispatched Malawian opponent Fredy Mwakiyoma in the first round at the same Kempton Park venue on Saturday evening. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
