The friendship between boxers, Likho Sigaba and Zolisa Batyi, will be thrown out of the window when the two gladiators meet at the Guild Theatre in KuGompo City on Sunday, 1 November.

Sigaba, an analytical chemistry graduate, faces Batyi in a slugfest for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Global featherweight title.

“Let’s get into the ring and put the friendship aside and go for it because it’s a big fight for both of us, I understand. For you, it’s a must win fight, also for me, it’s a must win fight,” Sigaba said in a message to Batyi, former South African junior-featherweight champion.

Sigaba added: “Bring it on my guy, I’m ready. It’s gonna a be a huge fight. I’m coming for your head my brother. I’m well prepared.”

Carrying an unbeaten record after winning all his nine bouts with four of those victories coming from knockouts, Sigaba will be returning to the Guild Theatre, the venue where he won his last two fights against Awonke Tini in April and Sonwabile Marenene in November last year. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
