Lerato ‘Lights Out’ Dlamini’s fight against Mexican boxer Eduardo Ramirez is going to take place in the United States before the end of the year.
Dlamini and Ramirez are scheduled to face off in a final World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight eliminator. The winner will stand a very good chance of challenging reigning WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Junior from the US.
“There is a potential date. I’m just trying to work a situation to get visas as we speak,” Dlamini’s trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan said.
The award-winning Nathan, who is the chief trainer at Hot Box Gym in Johannesburg, added: “The fight is going to be held overseas, potentially in the United States in December.”
Last month the WBC ordered the 27-year-old Dlamini from Welkom in the Free State and Ramirez, 28, to fight against each other in an elimination bout.
