Kaizer Chiefs’ bad season continued when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Black Leopards in a DStv Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec on Wednesday night.
Lidoda Duvha raced to a 2-0 lead before the 25 minutes mark, but they allowed Amakhosi to come back to the match in the second stanza.
Former Chiefs striker Ovidy Karuru netted a brace while Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Khama Billiat scored for Amakhosi.
Karuru opened the scoring in the 12th minutes after Chiefs goalkeeper and captain Itumeleng Khune ‘s costly blunder. Khune passed the ball straight to Karuru while trying to pass it to one of his teammates.
Karuru completed his brace with a free header in the 22nd minute.
On the other hand, Ngcobo netted for Chiefs in the 68th minute and Billiat made sure that Amakhosi didn’t register their third loss of the season when he scored in the 86th minute.
Leopards have now won once, drawn once and lost four times while Amakhosi have registered one win, three draws and two losses.
Chiefs’ next match is an away clash against SuperSport United while Lidoda Duvha will face Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in a Limpopo derby.
