Kaitano Tembo is disappointed that his team SuperSport United dropped points when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Chippa United in a DStv Premiership match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on
Wednesday evening.

Matsatsantsa a Pitori, who were favourites to win this fixture, started the match very well taking the fight to the Chilli Boys in the
first 15 minutes of the encounter, but they failed to break the sometimes suspect defence of the Port Elizabeth club.

They only scored in the second half after the Chilli Boys had gone to the half time break leading 1-0 through Andile Mbenyane’s goal.

Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza scored for Matsatsantsa before Maloisane Mokhele equalised to ensure that the Chilli Boys left Atteridgeville with a point.

‘‘Look, I think we should have been three goals up in the first five minutes. We were very positive when we started,’’ the Matsatsantsa coach said.

‘‘We gave them time and space on the ball. You don’t give a team like Chippa time and space on the ball.

‘‘We improved in the second half where we played effective football. Overall, we had no business to drop points. I’m quite disappointed that we dropped points.

The former Matsatsantsa and Seven Stars defender added that they didn’t play their pressing game, which won them matches in the past.

‘‘Our performance was very flat. Our pressing game was not consistent.
We changed a little bit, second half we came better, but still we were not sharp. We now just have to look forward and make sure that we prepare for the weekend game,’’ he said.

Next up for Matsantsantsa is an away match against TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday.
