A first half goal scored by Deon Hotto was enough to give Orlando Pirates a much-needed win beating Maritzburg United 1-0 in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Buccaneers were under pressure to win this match following poor results against Black Leopards and Lamontville Golden Arrows. Leopards beat Pirates 2-0 and Arrows drew goalless with the Buccaneers last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, coach Benni McCarthy finally got his second win as AmaZulu coach after Usuthu defeated Baroka FC 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Kaizer Chiefs held Stellenbosch FC to a goalless draw at the Danie Craven Stadium.
