A Mohammed Anas brace gave Black Leopards much-needed three points as they beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-1 in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, Durban, on Tuesday evening.
Anas gave Lidoda Duvha the lead in the 33rd minute after he headed in from a rebound off a Lifa Hlongwane scorcher. Abafana Bes’thende replied through Michael Gumede’s cheeky back heel in the 68th minute.
Arrows suffered a big blow when match referee Luxolo Badi red carded Pule Mmodi in the 73rd minute.
It looked like the match was going to end in a draw until Anas completed his brace on the stroke of full-time.
This was Abafana Bes’thende’s second loss of the season having lost to Cape Town City before.
