Stellenbosch FC beat Cape Town City 2-1 in a DStv Premiership match played at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Stellies were the first to break the deadlock through Rafique de Goede in the 14th minute. However, that lead was cancelled by Aubrey Ngoma in the 23rd minute. The two teams were level at half time. Ashley du Preez restored Stellies’ lead when he netted for the Cape Winelands side in the 49th minute.
Stellies are going to visit Baroka FC on Wednesday (17h00) and then face Mamelodi Sundowns at home three days later.
On the other hand, the Citizens’ next match is away to Lamontville Golden Arrows on Saturday, 20 March.
