Cape Town City have fired their Dutch coach Jan Olde Riekerink just over two weeks after they put him in an administrative leave.
The Citizens announced that the Dutchman is going to return to Europe where he will continue his coaching career.
The Citizens are now coached by the club’s assistant coach Diogo Peral, who assisted Riekerink.
Riekerink’s problems started after the Citizens’ 5-1 trouncing at home by AmaZulu a few weeks ago.
The Citizens are seventh on the DStv Premiership table with 38 points from 28 matches. They have scored 39 goals and conceded 36.
