Mandla Ncikazi afforded a smile after his team Lamontville Golden Arrows demolished TS Galaxy 3-0 in a DStv Premiership match at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Clermont, Durban, on Wednesday.
Goals from Michael Gumede, Pule Mmodi and Ntsako Makhubela helped Arrows gain three points to take their tally to 46 from 28 matches.
“Just proud I’m standing in front of the team after having scored three goals without conceding. I’m just happy the players have given their all,” the Arrows coach said.
Abafana Bes’thende went into the match on the back of losses to AmaZulu and Maritzburg United. And Ncikazi was happy that his boys managed to bounce back.
“I’m happy that we took the chances even matches we lost previously we allowed silly goals. Just happy we had the capacity to break that two-match losing streak,” he said.
“I’m happy that these players are giving their all for the badge. Happy we are continuing with what we planned at the beginning of the season.”
Abafana Bes’thende are now left with two matches before they wrap up what has been their best season ever. They face Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC.
“There are still two ‘cup finals’ we are going to play. Kaizer Chiefs away from home and Stellenbosch. Getting the points there and go as far as possible. Whatever happens at the end we will always be proud as a team,” Ncikazi said.
