Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned the inaugural DStv Premiership champions after collecting 67 points in 30 games.
Sundowns wrapped up the 2020/21 season with a 3-0 win over Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilians’ goals came from Lyle Lakay and a brace from Peter Shalulile. Lakay opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Shalulile added two goals in the 76th and 82nd minutes.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs sneaked into the top-eight bracket following 1-0 win over TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Serbian-born striker Samir Nurkovic netted Amakhosi’s important goal in the 26th minute.
