Coach Lehlohonolo Seema is hoping to save his team Chippa United during the relegation/promotion play-offs.
The Chilli Boys are going to play in the play-offs against teams that finished second and third on the GladAfrica Championship table. This comes after the Gqeberha-based club finished 15th in the Premier Division.
The Chilli Boys were held to a 1-1 draw by SuperSport United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.
“I think it’s a 1-1 draw that we can take. We didn’t lose the last match of the season. The guys are disappointed. However, we have to prepare for the play-offs now,” Seema said.
“That is the fight now. We are looking at it in a very, very serious way because we are given a second chance.”
The former Bloemfontein Celtic and Black Leopards coach has told his players that they must fight during the play-offs.
“I told them that the season is not over. We are disappointed, we would have loved to go home earlier, but the situation doesn’t allow that. If we take the performance of the past two matches we will be able to come back from the play-offs,” Seema said.
