Boxing South Africa (BSA) has sent its condolences to the family of the late former national champion Andre Thysse.
The erstwhile South African super-middleweight champion passed away early on Thursday morning following COVID-19 complications.
“Boxing South Africa join the boxing community in mourning the passing of Mr Andre Thysse. Our condolences to his wife Judith Thysse, his children, family and friends,” a statement from BSA said.
The 52-year-old Thysse won the 2016 Promoter of the Year award when he was still promoting boxing and he was registered as a boxer’s manager at the time of his death.
