The British and Irish Lions drew first blood beating the Springboks 22-17 in the first Test played at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.  
The visitors trailed in the first half, but came out with a better strategy in the second stanza as they dominated in the last 40 minutes of the game. 
Both the Boks and the visitors scored one try each with Faf de Klerk scoring for South Africa while Luke Cowan-Dickie crossed the try line for the Lions. 
Handre Pollard converted four penalties while the Lions’ Dan Biggar contributed with 14 points – four penalties and a conversion – with Owen Farrell converting one penalty for the visitors.
