Siseko ‘Majayivana’ Makeleni wants to do something which Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni and Xolani ‘Tiger’ Mcotheli failed to do between last October and March this year.
Makeleni is eager to become the first Eastern Cape boxer to inflict defeat on current South African junior-welterweight champion Prince Dlomo. Mthatha-born Makeleni challenges Dlomo at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday.
“I’m not looking down on Dlomo, he is the champion, but there is no way that he can beat me,” a confident Makeleni said.
Trained by Khangelani Jack in Mdantsane, Makeleni regards Dlomo as somebody who doesn’t deserve the junior-welterweight title thus he is determined to take it.
“I said it a few weeks ago and will say it again that I’m going to Johannesburg to reclaim what belongs to the Eastern Cape,” Makeleni said.
Dlomo stunned Ndongeni when he stopped him in the sixth round in October last year. He then went on to dethrone Mcotheli in March.
