It looks like beating Eastern Cape boxers is fast becoming South African champion Prince Dlomo’s habit as he continues to cause more heartaches in the Home of Legends’ boxing circles.
Dlomo, who is the reigning SA junior-welterweight champion, defeated a third boxer from the Eastern Cape when he beat challenger Siseko ‘Majayivana’ Makeleni by a split decision at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday evening.
Pietermaritzburg-born Dlomo’s win over Makeleni from Mthatha follows after he defeated two Eastern Cape boxers – Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni and Xolani ‘Tiger’ Mcotheli in October and March respectively.
Both Dlomo and Makeleni put up a fierce fight during their clash as each ensured that they won the contest. However, Makeleni was unlucky as he had points deducted.
