Royal AM whipped TS Galaxy 4-2 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon.

Royal AM showed their intentions when they took the lead in the fourth minute following a blunder by Rockets defender Marks Munyai, who attempted a back pass to goalkeeper Wensten van der Linde only to find that Tshidiso Monamodi was chasing.

An under pressure Van der Linde’s clearance was blocked by Monamodi and the ball rolled into the net to give Royal AM a 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, match referee Luxolo Badi reduced the Rockets to 10 men after he red carded Munyai for a foul on Monamodi.

Royal AM increased the lead in the 28th minute when Levy Mashiane beat his markers and slotted the ball past Van der Linde, who was playing his first match this season.

Royal AM top goalscorer Victor Letsoalo made it 3-0 on the stroke of half time. This was the former Bloemfontein Celtic and Baroka FC  striker’s fourth goal in five matches.

Coach Owen da Gama’s Rockets finally got a goal when Pogiso Sanoka converted a penalty in the 77th minute.

Royal AM were not done scoring as they made it 4-1 through Kabelo Mahlasela in the 86th minute.

Rockets captain Mxolisi Macuphu headed in his team’s second goal in referee’s added time.

This was the second match in a row that Royal AM scored four goals. They beat Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec last Saturday.

On the other hand, the Rockets were beaten 3-0 by log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.
