Equitorial Guinea caused more heartaches for defending Africa Cup of Nations champions Algeria beating them 1-0 at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, on Sunday evening.
Esteban Obono’s 70th minute goal stunned Algeria and ended their 35-match unbeaten run. Before meeting Equatorial Guinea, the Desert Warriors had last lost in October 2018 to Benin.
Algeria are now stone last in Group E with one point and they desperately need a win in their final group stages match against Ivory Coast.
