The World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight final elimination bout between Lerato ‘Lights Out’ Dlamini from the Free State and Mexican boxer Eduardo Ramirez is not happening anymore.
This comes after Ramirez moved up a division to junior-lightweight something which left Dlamini stratching his head while waiting to hear from the WBC.
Writing on his Facebook page regarding the latest developments, Dlamini said: “Am getting questions about this fight. It ain’t gonna happen. Ramirez moved up in weight. My team and I are waiting for the WBC to re-order the elimination. Am willing to fight any of the top 15 fighters. I just gotta be patient and stay in the gym my time will come.”
Last September, the WBC ordered Dlamini and Ramirez to slug it out in a final eliminator with the winner having been promised a crack in the world title. The WBC featherweight title is held by Filipino boxer Mark Magsayo, who dethroned Gary Russell Junior last month.
