Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena is happy that the championship-winning Brazilians have won their fifth straight league title with four games to spare.
The Tshwane giants achieved this feat after they were held to a goalless draw by Cape Town City at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Wednesday evening.
“It’s good to have the title wrapped up. We are very happy. It’s been a very difficult season,” the former Chippa United coach said.
“Good moments, bad moments, we stuck together. The footbalI players, they have been magnificent this season. What they have achieved on the pitch is incredible. We are very proud of them. We are just honoured to be their coaches. We’ve had a better season than we had last season.”
The Brazilians have registered 17 wins, seven draws and two defeats this season. They have, in the process, scored 50 goals and conceded 14 in 26 matches.
