Miniyakhe Sityata has returned to Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape after spending more than a year in Johannesburg.

The former SA junior-bantamweight champion is training boxers at Xaba Boxing Academy. This comes After Khangelani Jack left Xaba Boxing Academy to start his own gym last month.

“I came back from Johannesburg on Monday and I have already started training boxers. The last time we spoke I was not aware that I was going to be given this task,” Sityata said.

Sityata, who is assisted by veteran  trainer Ben Mtyaliselo, trains Gideon Buthelezi, Siphamandla Baleni and Phumelela Cafu.

Two-time International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-bantamweight champion Buthelezi is preparing to fight against Filipino boxer Dave Apolinario in a vacant IBO flyweight contest at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Friday, 29 July.

Baleni, on the other hand, challenges IBO minimumweight champion Ayanda Ndulani while Cafu clashes with Ben Mananquil in a World Boxing Association (WBA) International junior-bantamweight title fight.
