Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga’s victory in a fight against Mexican boxer Hector Flores in Mexico on Sunday morning (South African time) is serving as a source of inspiration to Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) chairman Teris Ntutu.
The RAP boss has abandoned almost everything and is going to fly to Johannesburg on Monday evening to welcome the newly-crowned International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion back home.
The 23-year-old Nontshinga defeated Flores by a split decision at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Sorona, Mexico.
“Sive’s win was massive. I’m flying to Johannesburg to ensure that I’m there when he returns home on Tuesday morning,” Ntutu said.
Meanwhile, Ntutu has revealed that they are planning to have two tournaments before the end of this year.
“We are working on something to ensure that we have tournaments in October and November. If we succeed, we will have one tournament in the province and another one outside the province,” Ntutu said.
Ntutu’s promotional outfit has only had one tournament this year. The tournament was held at East London’s Orient Theatre two months ago.
