Sabelo Ngebiyana from Komani in the Eastern Cape will be travelling to Tanzania in less than three weeks’ time as he has a date with Tanzanian Tony Rashid.
The former South African junior-bantamweight champion clashes with Rashid in an African Boxing Union (ABU) junior-featherweight title contest at the Ubungo Plaza in Dar-Es-Salaam on Friday, 24 February.
“I will campaign in the junior-featherweight outside South Africa and in the junior-bantamweight here at home,” Ngebiyana said.
Ngebiyana goes into the Rashid fight on the back of an 11th round stoppage loss to Namibian Fillipus Nghitumbwa in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Global junior-featherweight title contest at the Ramatex Hall in Windhoek, Namibia, in October last year.
Ngebiyana has a professional record of 15 wins (11 stoppages) and six defeats while Rashid has only lost twice in 14 victories (10 knockouts) and two draws.
