Orlando Pirates won their second trophy of the season after they beat Sekhukhune United 2-1 in the final of the Nedbank Cup at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday evening.

Babina Noko shot into the lead when Sibusiso Vilakazi, formerly with TS Galaxy and Mamelodi Sundowns, beat Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine in the 12th minute.

The Buccaneers, who won the MTN8 trophy earlier on the season, equalised from the penalty spot through Tapelo Xoki on the stroke of half-time. Pirates were awarded the penalty after match referee Thando Ndzandzeka had penalised Victor Letsoalo for handling.

It looked like the match was going to extra time when Terrence Dzvukamanja broke the hearts of Babina Noko supporters netting the Soweto giants’ winning goal from a Monnapule Saleng cross in referee’s added time.
