Action started with Orbit TVET College from North West defeating Mpumalanga’s Mlambo Royal Cubs 2-0 before Eastern Cape champions Amavarara FC beat Young Bafana Soccer Academy from the Western Cape 2-1 in the second match.
Nedbank Cup quarter-finalists and Gauteng champions Dondol Stars were brought down to earth when they were beaten 2-1 by KwaZulu-Natal side Umsinga United in the last match of the day.
