Underdogs Colombia stunned favourites Germany 2-1 in a 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Group H match at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.
Nobody gave the Colombians a chance to upset the two-time champions. However, goals from Linda Caicedo and Manuela Vanegas were enough to do the damage on the Germans whose goal was scored by Alexandre Popp.
Meanwhile, Norway and Switzerland are through to the last-16 of the tournament after they came second and first in Group A.
The Norwegians walloped the Philippines 6-0 and Switzerland played to a goalless draw with co-hosts New Zealand.
