The urge to officially open a new facility in front of locals and visitors has forced a change of venue for this coming Sunday’s Last Born Promotions (LBP) tournament.

Initially, the Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Centre in Komani was earmarked for the tournament, however the venue has since been changed as the event is now going to take place at the new Whittlesea Multipurpose Hall in Sada.

The tournament is headlined by a vacant African Boxing Union (ABU) mini-flyweight title contest between current South African minimumweight champion Siyakholwa Kuse and Halid Kalama Ally from Tanzania.

Former SA featherweight champion Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile is going to square up against another Tanzanian Emmanuel Amos Stephano in the main supporting bout.

“Municipal officials from the Enoch Mgijima Municipality felt that it’s better to move the tournament to the new venue in Sada as they are going to launch it. We inspected the venue on Tuesday and we are happy with it. It’s good that the tournament is going to be held at a new venue because we also have boxers from Sada in our bill,” Mlandeli Tengimfene from LBP revealed.

Sada boxers Shaun Mzayifani, Bonginkosi Solani and Somila Jada are going to fight against opponents from Rustenburg, Komga and Gqeberha respectively.

Mzayifani has been pitted against Obageng Masithi and Solani is set to clash with Mdledle while Jama faces Xhanti Jafta.
