AmaZulu showed Royal AM flames as they beat them 3-0 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday evening.
Usuthu scored their first goal inside 15 minutes when Mlondi Mbanjwa gave them the lead in the 13th minute after he sent the ball past Thwihli Thwahla goalkeeper Hugo Nyame.
Augustine Kwem, formerly with TS Galaxy and Chippa United, doubled the score in the 27th minute. That was Kwem’s fifth goal of the season.
Five minutes later, Usuthu made it 3-0 after Kwem from Nigeria tapped in to complete his brace and scored his sixth goal of the season.
As a result of Friday’s win, Usuthu have leaped three places – from 10th to seventh on the Premiership standings with 22 points from 16 games.
