Unbeaten Sibabalwe Gwebityala is the new Eastern Cape female junior-flyweight champion after she outpointed Zizo Skoti from Ngcobo at the Scenery Park Hall in East London on Saturday afternoon.
Gwebityala from Kuni in East London and Skoti went into this fight following brilliant performances during their last fights in Gqeberha in October. Gwebityala stopped Unathi Sityoto in the first round while Skoti earned a third round stoppage win over Sinesipho Poni.
And with Saturday’s victory, Gwebityala has now won all her three fights with one of those wins being a knockout. On the other hand, Skoti has one win, a draw and a defeat.
Meanwhile, Anam Xuza defeated Nomfundo Xaba with a second round technical knockout in the main supporting bout with Namhla Mankayi stopping Poni in the first round.
Mihle Tuli registered a unanimous points victory over Nothando Ncube and Abongile Lubambo defeated Sinesipho Lathitha Mve by a split decision.
