The KwaZulu-Natal boxing fraternity has been hit by yet another death of a boxer, Skhumbuzo Ximba, who collapsed and passed away after training on Friday evening.
Ximba, a junior-featherweight campaigner, was preparing himself for next Friday’s clash, which was against Lukhuxolo Mabece at a Boxing5 Promotions tourname at Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg. Ximba last fought when he suffered a third round stoppage loss to Siyabulela Hem at the Meropa Casino, Polokwane, in June.
Meanwhile, Ximba’s death came just a few weeks after another KwaZulu-Natal boxer, Mamelo ‘Slow Poison’ Sithole, had passed away.
