Thembinkosi Lorch steered Mamelodi Sundowns to the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup as the Brazilians defeated Maritzburg United 2-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Sunday evening.
Lorch, who joined the Tshwane giants from Orlando Pirates in January this year, scored his first goal in the 74th minute. And he completed his brace in referee’s added time.
The Brazilians together with other seven teams – Chippa United, TS Galaxy, Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, University of Pretoria, AmaZulu and SuperSport United – will go to the draw, which is set for Randburg at 18h00 on Monday.
