Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke will return to action next month when he fights against Mexican opponent Eric Gamboa at the Border Conference Centre, Abbotsford Christian Centre, in East London.
Two titles are going to be at stake during this fight, which is scheduled for Friday, 20 June. Ngxeke’s World Boxing Organisation (WBO) International bantamweight title as well as a vacant IBF International crown will be at stake.
The 30-year-old Ngxeke, who has won 15 times with eight stoppages, a loss and a draw, is rated in the top six in three of the four most recognised world boxing bodies. He’s rated sixth by both the IBF and the World Boxing Council (WBC) while the WBO rates him in fourth position.
With a professional record of 26 wins with 14 knockouts and two losses, the 30-year-old Gamboa whose full name is Eric Gerardo Gamboa Barrera, is not rated by the top four world boxing bodies.
