Akani ‘Prime’ Phuzi remains positive despite his fight against top Canadian boxer Ryan ‘The Bruiser’ Rozicki, which was scheduled for Saturday, 25 October (Sunday, 26 October, South African time), being called off.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas cruiserweight title fight was called off after Rozicki got injured while in camp. Rozicki was preparing for the clash, which was set for Centre 2000 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada.

“I am fine. Well, this happens, it’s boxing. I will continue working,” Malamulele-born Phuzi remarked.

This was going to be Phuzi’s second fight of the year having beaten Youssouf Kasongo Mwanza from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Pretoria five months ago.

Trained by Damien Durandt in Johannesburg, Phuzi has a professional record of 14 wins with six stoppages and three defeats. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
