With high expectations this year, reigning International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental and South African junior-flyweight champion Siseko Teyisi is now looking for a new trainer to take his boxing career forward.

Teyisi found himself without a trainer after he bolted out of Xaba Promotions following a contractual dispute recently. Previously, Teyisi was guided by Mnyamezeli ‘Fire’ Shosha as his trainer.

“We have not taken any decision so far in regards to Siseko’s movement. We feel that there’s no rush. We still have to decide on who’s going to be his new trainer,” Teyisi’s manager Bongani Bozo said.

Teyisi has won all his nine fights with seven of those victories coming from stoppages. He stopped Athenkosi Thongwana in the 12th round at the Orient Theatre in East London last month.

The unbeaten 21-year-old Teyisi, a southpaw from Mdantsane, is rated 10th in the IBF junior-flyweight ratings. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
