Mzuvukile ‘Old Bones’ Magwaza will turn back the clock as he makes a return to the ring at the EFC Centre in Johannesburg on Thursday, 21 April.

The unbeaten Magwaza has not fought since thugs shot him in the leg while robbing his family at his Site C, Khayelitsha, home in January 2018.

A former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental bantamweight champion, Magwaza is now scheduled to fight against Sanele Maduna in a junior-featherweight six rounds bout.

“I’m going to fight in Johannesburg against Sanele Maduna later this month. I feel strong and I believe that I will be okay for the six rounds. I have been training for two years now,” Duncan Village-born Magwaza said.

The last time Magwaza fought was when he defeated Namibian Immanuel Naidjala at the Orient Theatre in East London in December 2017.

Meanwhile, Magwaza’s upcoming fight pits two unbeaten boxers against each other. Magwaza has a professional record of 20 wins with 11 stoppages and three draws while Maduna has four victories (two knockouts) and a draw.
