Orlando Pirates have reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after they beat Simba SC from Tanzania 4-3 on penalties at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Sunday evening.
The second leg match was decided on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate score in 90 minutes with the Buccaneers having won 1-0 at home after losing by the same scoreline away last weekend.
Back to the match, the visitors were reduced to 10 men after Kope Mugalu was red carded for a second bookable offence in the 58th minute.
The Buccaneers capitalised on their numerical advantage and scored in the 60th minute when Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah headed in Innocent Maela’s cross.
