Kaizer Chiefs announced on Thursday that they have finally elevated Arthur Zwane as their head coach with immediate effect.
The 48-year-old Zwane, who was born in Meadowlands in Soweto, has been given a three-year contract and is going to be assisted by Dillon Sheppard.
“Having gone through every phase as a player and then taking the steps to develop as a coach makes him the ideal candidate. We understand the challenges the club faces. If you ask any of our supporters, they want to win, but they want to win the Kaizer Chiefs way. He has the full support of the Kaizer Chiefs family,” Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Junior said.
Zwane and Sheppard were appointed caretaker coaches after Chiefs sacked Stuart Baxter. The duo also held the same position after Amakhosi fired Gavin Hunt during the 2020/21 season.
