Unbeaten East London boxer Ayabonga ‘Jay Jay’ Sonjica is scheduled to step into the ring to defend his two titles.
With a professional record of 10 wins and eight knockouts, Sonjica will defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa and South African junior-featherweight titles against Bongani Mahlangu from the Vaal.
The clash between Johannesburg-based Sonjica and Mahlangu is set to be held at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 3 July. This fight is going to be promoted by Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP).
Duncan Village-born Sonjica defeated Tanzanian Kasimu Hamad Haji by a second round knockout at the Orient Theatre last December.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old Mahlangu will be attempting to regain the SA junior-featherweight he once held.
