Want-away SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule has finally left the team to join Mamelodi Sundowns after the two clubs agreed terms on his permanent move.

Mbule, who joined Matsatsantsa a Pitori’s academy from Virginia (Harmony) Sports Academy during the 2015/16 season, will report for duty at Sundowns on 1 July after signing a three-year contract with them.

The 24 -year-old Mbule from Bethlehem in the Free State was part of the Matsatsantsa squad that won the MTN8 trophy in the 2017/18 and 2019/20 seasons.

“We are sorry to be losing a gifted player like Sipho, especially at his age where his best is yet to come. We tried all avenues to turn things around with Sipho, but in recent months it became clear that his heart and mind is not at our club and that it was best for us to part ways,” Matsatsantsa chief executive officer Stan Matthews said.

Mbule is going to be reunited with his homeboy Teboho Mokoena now that he has agreed to join the Brazilians.
