Danny Jordaan, the president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), has revealed that Banyana Banyana will be awarded R9.2-million if they win the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.

The tournament is going to be hosted by Morocco and starts on Saturday, 2 July until the 23rd of the month. 

“We are giving away R9,2 million in bonuses on the basis they win the AWCON,” Jordaan said on Tuesday.

Banyana are in Group C together with Nigeria, Botswana and Burundi. Banyana open the tournament with a clash against Nigeria on Monday, 4 July, then face Burundi three days later and play last group stages match against Botswana on Sunday, 10 July. 

Meanwhile, Banyana coach Desiree Ellis announced a 26-member squad on Monday. Three of the players are on standby.
