Soweto giants Orlando Pirates announced the appointment of Jose Riveiro from Spain as their new coach on Saturday.
The 46-year-old Spaniard joined the Buccaneers on a three-year contract. This is Riveiro’s second job as a herd coach, with the first having been in 2018. He’s going to work in Africa for the first time.
Pirates lost German-born coach Josef Zinnbauer after he resigned last season and they were then co-coached by Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.
Riveiro is going to be assisted by Sergio Almenara and Ncikazi while Miguel Bellver Esteve is the fitness trainer and Tyron Damons is the goalkeeper coach.
