South African boxer Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile is going to miss out on fighting against Japanese Kenichi Ogawa in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight elimination bout.
Fuzile’s manager Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan had hoped that the Duncan Village-born boxer would face Ogawa in an eliminator. However, that is not going to happen after the IBF reportedly ordered Ogawa to face Tajikistan boxer Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov for the vacant title.
The title became vacant after former champion Joseph Diaz failed to make the required weight before meeting Rakhimov last weekend.
The fight between Diaz and Rakhimov ended in a majority draw.
