Filipino boxer and former world title contender Toto Landero whose real name was Robert Villamar Landero has passed away.
The 27-year-old Landero’s passing away was confirmed on Wednesday after his body was found following a two-day search.
Reports from the Philippines say that Landero, who once challenged Konkco for the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight title in July 2018, drowned after he was swept away while trying to cross a river during heavy rains.
Landero once challenged unbeaten World Boxing Association (WBA) champion CP Freshmart whose real name is Thimmanoon Niyomtrong in March 2018. He had a professional record of 11 wins with two stoppages, eight losses and two draws.
