Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis is looking at leading her team to yet another win as they face Botswana at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, in their final group stages match at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament at 21h00 on Sunday.
Already, Banyana have reached the next round of the competition after winning their first two matches against the Nigerian Super Falcons and Burundi. They now want to win and make sure that they finish in top position in Group C.
“I think we haven’t prepared any differently. We had very little time in-between. It’s just to ensure that we maintain everything,” Ellis said on Saturday.
The former Banyana captain will lead her team knowing very well that their neighbours once broke their hearts before.
“In 2019 they knocked us out of the Olympics. We know the threat they pose. We want to make sure that we end top of the group. We want to make sure we get maximum points,” Ellis remarked.
