AmaZulu won their third match of the season when they defeated Swallows FC 3-2 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Dobsonville Stadium on Friday evening.
Usuthu took the lead through Gabadinho Mhango in the 24th minute. This was the Malawian’s third goal of the season as he has scored in three successive matches.
Debutant Keegan Allan, who joined Swallows from Motsepe Foundation Championship side University of Pretoria, equalised for the Dube Birds a minute before the half-time break.
The 21-year-old Allan completed his brace when he beat Usuthu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.
Usuthu levelled matters after Swallows goalkeeper Thakasani Mbanjwa’s own goal in the 79th minute. Mbongeni Gumede’s powerful header off Riaan Hanamub’s free kick in the 90th minute made it 3-2 for Usuthu.
