Mamelodi Sundowns beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-1 in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Saturday evening.
Namibian-born Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile gave the Brazilians a lead a minute before half-time. Shalulile scored his sixth goal of the season from the penalty spot after match referee Masixole Bambiso had penalised Arrows goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede for fouling the Namibian.
The 29-year-old former Highlands Park forward has now netted 59 goals in 92 matches in a Sundowns jersey.
Four minutes after the break, Pule Mmodi equalised for Abafana Bes’thende beating Sundowns goalminder Ronwen Williams from outside the box.
But things turned bad for Arrows as their defender Siyavuya Ndlovu scored an own goal while he was trying to make a clearance.
