Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis is impressed with what she saw on 22-year-old Faith Nokuthula at training on Thursday.
Nokuthula, who plays for Blackburn Rovers in England, was drafted into the Banyana squad after Refiloe Jane had visa problems ahead of Saturday’s international friendly match against 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosts Australia in London.
“There’s something that not many people know about Faith. She actually plays as a right fullback or right wingback. She played in the youth team at Brighton. She played as a central midfielder. She looked very commanding. Her passing was very good. I was really impressed. She showed her quality,” Ellis said.
Meanwhile, Jermaine Seoposenwe and Linda Motlhalo finally arrived at the Banyana camp on Thursday.
“It was good to get Jermaine and Linda finally in camp. Everybody is here now. I think the session went very well. We worked on a few things. The players looked very sharp,” Ellis said after Thursday’s training session.
