Lunga ‘Pressure Cooker’ Sitimela’s defence of the South African junior-lightweight title against Khanyile Bulana has now been rescheduled.
Initially, the two boxers were set to square up against each other on Sunday, 16 October, and the fight was then postponed to Sunday, 20 November. It has now been brought forward by two days and is set for Friday, 18 November at the Vibrant Sports Centre in Ottery, Cape Town.
This is going to be Dordrecht-born Sitemela’s first defence of the title he captured when he defeated Sibusiso Zingange at the Galleria, Sandton, in Johannesburg in May this year.
Bulana from Scenery Park in East London will be making his first appearance since he lost to former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight champion Michael Magnesi in Italy in April last year. Magnesi from Italy stopped Bulana in the first round during an IBO junior-lightweight title defence.
Meanwhile, unbeaten Daniel Pontac from Bellville in Cape Town and Mzwabantu Dabaza are going to fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International flyweight title.
Dabaza from Kariega in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro is the current Eastern Cape junior-flyweight champion.
