Knights paceman Gerald Coetzee has received his first Proteas call-up ahead of the Test series against Australia.
The 22-year-old Coetzee deservedly earned the Proteas call-up as he has done exceptionally well for the Knights.
Theunis de Bruyn has been recalled to the Proteas’ set-up since 2019 following splendid performances for the Titans in the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series.
Ryan Rickelton, who is nursing an ankle injury, has been replaced by Heinrich Klaasen while Keegan Petersen misses out because of a hamstring injury.
The Proteas face Australia in the first Test match at the Gabba in Brisbane starting from 17 December. The second Test match is scheduled for the MCG in Melbourne and will start on Boxing Day while the third and fib Test will be played at the SCG in Sydney beginning on 4 January 2023.
